Inspired by “The Daughters of Nereus,” a book by Jean-Luc Legros published by La Griffe du Temps, David Balade delves into the mystery of water.

Following in the footsteps of these 63 Nereids, daughters of the benevolent old man of the sea in Greek mythology, the artist has created a dozen illustrations using mixed media on paper:

At the boundary between sea and light, a whole world of fluid forms in flux shimmers, like so many reflections on our relationship with this primordial element: water.
